VISA FOR THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
The following are the requirements to obtain a visa to China:
TOURIST VISA:
- Original passport with at least six months validity left beyond intended
stay;
- One Visa
Application for The People's Republic of China and one Visa Processing
Order Form;
- Applicants of Chinese descent must write their Chinese name (if any)
on #1 of the visa application form;
- One 2" x 2" passport type photograph;
- Copy of round trip tickets or flight itinerary;
- Hotel reservation. Applicants staying with family in China should
provide proof of kinship (e.g. copy of birth certificate or copy of
marriage certificate) in lieu of hotel reservation. Applicants staying
with friends or family in China should also fully complete Section 4
on the visa application form;
- For non-U.S. citizen, the consulate only accepts applications from
those who hold either a U.S. permanent resident card or a U.S. visa
type F, H or L. Applications from those who hold any other types of
U.S. visa (e.g. B, E, J etc.) or non-U.S. permanent residents will not
be accepted. Non-U.S. passport holders must provide a copy of U.S. permanent
resident card or U.S. visa;
- China born applicant applying for his/her first Chinese visa with
his/her foreign passport must submit his/her original Chinese passport
or last foreign passport.
- When applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, child of Chinese
descent born in foreign country must submit a copy of his/her birth
certificate, and copy of one of his/her parents' passport or permanent
resident card.
BUSINESS VISA:
- Original passport with at least six months validity left beyond intended

- Visa Notification IN ORIGINAL issued by an authorized Chinese unit.

must be in original. Fax or email copy will not be accepted. The Consulate
of China recommends travelers to apply for a tourist visa if Visa Notification
cannot be obtained. According to the consulate, tourist visa holders
are allowed to conduct business activities in China.
EMPLOYMENT "Z" VISA:
- Original passport with at least six months validity left beyond intended
stay;
- One Visa

- Applicants of Chinese descent must write their Chinese name (if any)

- One 2" x 2" passport type photograph;
- For non-U.S. citizen, the consulate only accepts applications from

- Official Invitation issued by a Chinese Government Agency or a government-authorized
company/organization.
CONSULAR FEE (per visa):
For U.S citizen:
- $130.00 - Five business day processing
- $150.00 - 24 hour processing
- $160.00 - Same day processing
Visas for U.S. citizen are valid for one year from date of issue, multiple
entry for stay not to exceed 60 days per entry.
For non U.S citizen:
- $30.00 - Five business day processing
- $50.00 - 24 hour processing
- $60.00 - Same day processing
Visas for non-U.S. citizen are valid for two months from date of issue,
single entry for a stay not to exceed 30 days.
SERVICE FEE (per visa):
$29.00 - Five business day processing
$75.00 - 24 hour processing
$100.00 - Same day processing
RETURN FEDERAL EXPRESS:
$20.00 per address (up to three passports)
$25.00 per address (four to six passports, or overweight package)
$32.00 per address (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico or Saturday Delivery)
