VISA FOR INDIA
The following are the requirements to obtain a visa to India:
TOURIST VISA:
- Original passport with at least six months validity left beyond intended
stay;
- A signed e-visa
application for India;
- Indian
visa processing order form;
- Two 2" x 2" passport type photographs;
- Proof of residency (e.g. copy of driver's license or utility bill);
- Non-U.S. passport holders* must provide proof of U.S. status (e.g.
copy of green card or U.S. visa).
BUSINESS VISA:
- Original passport with at least six months validity left beyond intended
stay;
- A signed e-visa
application for India;
- Indian
visa processing order form;
- Two 2" x 2" passport type photographs;
- Proof of residency (e.g. copy of driver's license or utility bill);
- Non-U.S. passport holders* must provide proof of U.S. status (e.g.
copy of green card or U.S. visa);
- Letter of Invitation from company in India;
- Business Letter from traveler's company on company letterhead giving
details of the nature of visit, including the dates of stay, hotel information
and addresses, organization to be visited and a financial guarantee
from the company, signed by a senior manager. If you are requesting
a visa for a period longer than six months, you must request this in
the business letter.
CONSULAR FEE (per visa):
$73.00 - Six Month Multiple Entry
$98.00 - One Year Multiple Entry
$163.00 - Five Year Multiple Entry
$163.00 - 10 Year Multiple Entry
SERVICE FEE (per visa):
$29.00 - Seven business day processing (excluding Consulate
scheduled holidays)
$75.00 - Four business day processing
Government approval is required for non U.S. passport holders who do not
hold a U.S. permanent resident card. In this case, four day processing will
not be available. The processing time usually takes approximately one to
two weeks.
Effective from Feb 1, 2008, applications for those who belong to the
specified categories mentioned below will take at least two weeks:
- Conventional Munitions
- Nuclear Technology
- Missile/Missile Technology
- Aircraft and Missile Propulsion and Vehicular Systems
- Navigation and Guidance Control
- Chemical and Biotechnology Engineering
- Remote Imaging and Reconnaissance
- Advanced Computer Material
- Advance Composite Material
- Information Security
- Laser and Directed Energy Systems
- Sensors
- Marine Technology (submarines etc)
- Robotics
- Advanced Ceramics
- High Performance Metals and Alloys and or with establishment engaged
in defense, research, nuclear, space and missile technology
Apart from submitting their passport and online visa application, applicants
who belong to the above categories should submit the following information
as well:
- Full name;
- Date and Place of Birth;
- Field of study, occupation or specialization;
- Recent research work/publications, if any;
- Employment history in the past five years;
- Current employer's contact address and phone number;
- Purpose of visit to India;
- Whether the visit is sponsored by USG;
- Whether there is any official government of India invitation;
- Contact details of organizations to be visited in India (list each);
- Applicant's contact address and telephone number in India.
RETURN FEDERAL EXPRESS:
$20.00 per address (up to three passports)
$25.00 per address (four to six passports, or overweight package)
$32.00 per address (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico or Saturday Delivery)
